We are using USA Pickleball rules:
________________________________________________________
Play Format
The first team listed on the schedule is designated as the home team and will call the coin toss. The winner of the coin toss has the option to choose either:
• The game line-up (deciding which players face each other in the mixed doubles games), or
• The order in which the games will be played.
The home team also has the choice of side or serve.
Teams will switch sides for Game 2 and switch sides again at 8 points in Game 3.
All games are played to 15 points, win by 2.
Substitution Policy
If a player is unable to participate, substitutions are permitted only with the approval of the opposing team. The opposing team also has the right to select the matchup for the mixed games.
Substitutes must have a DUPR rating equal to or lower than the player they are replacing.
Team Withdrawal Policy
If a team withdraws from the league, all of their matches will be removed from the standings. This ensures their departure does not affect the records or rankings of teams they have played or were scheduled to play.
Player Replacement Policy
If a player drops out and is to be replaced for the remainder of the season, the replacement must be approved by a unanimous league vote. Each team is allowed one vote.
Forfeits
If a team cannot field a player and no substitute is available or approved, that team will forfeit the match.
Any team that forfeits a match and does not make it up by the end of the season will receive a loss for that match. The team’s average points scored per game will be used as their points for that game.
If a team forfeits three weeks during the season, it will result in team withdrawal. See the Team Withdrawal Policy for more details.
Timeouts
Each team is allowed two 60-second timeouts per game. Timeouts can be called by any player or the team before or after a point, as long as the ball is not in play.
Score Calling
Before every serve, the entire score — server’s team score, receiver’s team score, and server number (1 or 2 in doubles) — must be called aloud clearly.
If the server begins the service motion before the full score has been announced, it results in a dead-ball fault, and the serve is lost.
